A sedentary lifestyle and a love for food caused a severe weight gain in my mid forties. Extremely high cholesterol and blood pressure were a constant battle despite several medications. Simple everyday tasks became a struggle. At my maximum weight I could not walk any distance without constant back and joint pain. I knew if I wanted to be around to watch my son grow and have a family of his own, something needed to change.

Facing failure 12 times in my quest to shed weight, I finally started to create a habit and see results. About 40 pounds down my weight loss became stagnant so I hired a personal trainer for help. I was put on a basic strength training that didn't account for my goals or lifestyle outside the gym. 8 weeks in and no true results or guidance, I became a certified trainer and train myself to ultimatelt hit my goals.

After shedding a life changing amount of weight, there was still work to be done. The stabilization, core and balance exercises throughout the weight loss journey prepared me to perform more complex movements when training while reducing injury. Utilizing a proper mix of cardio, diet and integrated resistance training I added 16 pounds of lean muscle mass.
